Diafra Sakho: Signing of the season?
West Ham’s Diafra Sakho could be the signing of the season after the striker has scored six goals in his last six games for the Hammers, propelling West Ham to fourth place. Though he has stiff competition to be dubbed the best signing following the arrival of the likes of Diego Costa to the Premier League.
Nobody knew much about the front man before he arrived in the Premier League, but teams will be singling out Sakho this season as United’s danger man.
His goal tally has been complemented by all round performances that have caught the eye, Sakho is not only a goal scorer, but a powerful striker willing to fight for the ball and earn his team the three points.
He comes as a major boost for Sam Allardyce’s side, accused of playing negative football the previous seasons, big Sam has proved the doubters wrong with the new brand of football his side are playing, along with this inspired signing.
Senegalese born Sakho was believed to be courted by Newcastle, before the North-East club rejected his services and West Ham got their man for what seems like a snip at £6m, along with Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia.
The 24-year-old previously scored 44 goals in 114 league appearances for Metz before joining the Hammers, he also had a brief stint on loan at Boulogne in 2012.
Earlier this year he also received his first call up to the Senegal national team, he scored his first goal for the side on his second appearance in a 3-1 win over Kosovo.
