Cuadrado could claim Chelsea title
Juan Cuadrado could be the man to provide the real edge that Chelsea may need to win the title.
Already top of the league and already favourites to win the title, Mourinho’s men need continuity, and what better way to get it than signing one of the highest rated wingers in world football.
The 26-year-old could be close to joining the Blues from Fiorentina as the Daily Express reports a £23m deal has been agreed between the two clubs, triggering Cuadrado’s release clause, though, the move could hinge on whether or not Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah goes the other way on loan.
The Colombia star would be a great signing for Chelsea, some would argue that they do not need him with the squad they already have, but it’s all about continuity. Chelsea need to keep their current fresh on their heels, even the likes of star man Eden Hazard will need a boost after they have shown they are vulnerable this season.
Cuadrado, who has scored a respectable 20 goals in 85 league appearances, could be highly relied upon by Chelsea too, the winger is a flair player, while being very skillful and a great dribbler, he also has the ability to produce something out of nothing, as he showed in the World Cup last year.
His flair will provide a great help either from starting the match or coming off the bench when Chelsea are perhaps not at the races in a particular game.
Chelsea have also been linked with Brazilian forward Douglas Costa who can also operate in the wide positions.
The Cuadrado deal could also hinge on whether or not Andre Schurrle will move to Wolfsburg, with the Daily Express also suggesting that Wolfsburg are ready to make a £20m bid for Schurrle.
If the deal goes through it will be the biggest transfer of the window so far.
