Falcao heading to Manchester United on loan

Manchester United have agreed to sign Colombia striker Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco, subject to a medical.

The 28-year-old has been linked throughout the summer with a move away from the French Ligue 1 side, who he joined for £50m in May 2013. Teams such as Real Madrid and Manchester City have apparently been the favourites for the Columbian,

Speculation over his future grew when he was dropped from Monaco’s squad shortly before Saturday’s draw against Lille, after being expected to start.

Falcao suffered a knee injury  earlier in the year, it is understood that United have the option to buy Falcao for £65million, but would rather test his recovery with a loan move, with a view to a permanent deal.

Following this signing, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez are expecting to depart Old Trafford
