Champions League Predictions!

The big guns are out on show again this week with the Champions League returning for it’s second round of group stage games.

The English teams struggled in their first games with only Liverpool picking up three points.

Tonight sees Manchester City take on Italians Roma at the Etihad. City were unlucky to lose against Bayern who conceeded a very unlucky goal in the final minutes.

Roma absolutely demolished CSKA 5-1 in their last game but they wont face such an easy task against City.

Tough one to call this, I’m going to have to go for a 2-1 City win. Excited to our friend at Gaff TV, Ashley Cole back in England as well!

Chelsea travel to Lisbon tonight to take on Sporting. The group is wide open after every team drew their opening game. Chelsea seem rather complacent when it comes to the Champions League but you’ve got to feel they’ll take this one seriously tonight.

Sporting won’t be an easy opponent but Chelsea have such a strong team I can’t see them losing. I’m going for a classic Mourinho 1-0 away win.

On Wednesday Liverpool face a tough tie away to Basel who have upset English teams such as Chelsea and Manchester United in the past.

Liverpool could welcome back Daniel Sturridge which will be a huge boost for them.

Basel were smashed 5-1 by Real Madrid but I can’t see Liverpool doing the same. However I’m still predicting a Liverpool win. 2-1 Liverpool.

Arsenal face Galatasaray at the Emirates Wednesday night and I can only see a win for the Gunners. Galatasaray drew their opening game with Anderlecht 1-1 and Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Dortmund. I’m predicting 3-0 Arsenal.

Other stand out fixtures this week include Barcelona who travel to PSG tonight. PSG are without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic so the’re already at a huge disadvantage. Messi is in fine form so I’m going for a 2-0 Barca win.

Spanish Champions Atletico Madrid take on Italian Champions Juventus on Wednesday night. Atletico suffered a shock opening game loss away to Olympiacos so they will be looking to get a result against Juve. What I can only see being a tight affair, I expect this to end a thrilling 2-2 draw.
