Leicester Earn Well Deserved Point

Leicester City and Arsenal fought out a very entertaining 1-1 draw this afternoon.

Arsenal opened the scoring on 20 minutes with Alexis Sanchez grabbing his first Premier League of the season after poor defending from Leicester.

This lead was short lived however after new Leicester signing Ulloa levelled things up for the foxes on 22 minutes. A great cross from Geoff Schlupp was met by a pin-point header from the Argentinian.

Laurent Koscielny was then forced off after 26 minutes with a head injury but Arsenal’s quality in depth was shown by Calum Chambers coming on as his replacement.

The remainder of the first half remained fairly even with Leicester playing the counter attack strategy and Arsenal sticking to their traditional possession and passing style.

The second half began and Leicester should’ve taken the lead early on after Ulloa had a one on one with Arsenal keeper Szczesney. The Argentine just had to place it but dragged the ball wide.

Arsenal remained mostly on top for most of the half but very few chances were created.

Then on 82 minutes Leicester sub Vardy made a great run through the Arsenal defence and eventually had a shot on target which forced a save out of Szczesney.

A very tense last ten minutes saw Leicester press against Arsenal but it was to no avail.

Great result for Leicester, Arsenal will be very frustrated as they looked to capitalise on Manchester City’s loss to Stoke.
