That’s Howe you do it
Just one game in and the already the championship has proven what a tough league it is. A league with so many big names it is almost impossible to pick a favourite to win it.
On paper, the Cardiff team that started against Blackburn looks full of goals but the Bluebirds were soon shown how tough this season will be. Likewise, Norwich and Fulham were also given fair warning of how hard instant promotion will be.
These three will be high on anyone’s list as will the vastly improving Wigan and Nottingham forest. Watford proved if they could keep Troy Deeney they are in the mix and Ipswich could surprise a few this year, but one team stood out at the weekend and finally, made the football world take notice.
Now I’m not getting carried away but after one game but Bournemouth look like they could be the surprise of the season. It’s only one game in and I’m not saying they can win it but could they challenge for Promotion?
Keeping manager Eddie Howe at the club may well be their best piece of business this season, but may yet still prove tricky. A man with clearly an eye for talent who has kept the core of last seasons team despite having some very coveted players, the loss of Lewis Grabban could’ve been tough but it looks like Callum Wilson is an ideal replacement. He has a team united and who have clearly bought in to his footballing philosophy.
Can they continue to play like this all season? Will they be this confident and brave against the bigger boys? Only time will tell but should they maintain this level and push for the playoffs or maybe more, I think we can all agree that keeping Eddie Howe at Bournemouth could be the signing of the season.
