Is Bernard the next big thing?

Brazilian playmaker Bernard is one of the brightest recent talents to come from out of South America.

The 21-year-old midfielder can operate can across the whole of the midfield and was used in a rotation policy by Brazil during the World Cup.

Despite his glowing reputation, he is one of the many South American still plying his trade in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Ukraine holds a lot of talent from South America, and Bernard is a little gem, quite literally; standing at around 5 ft 5, he is able to use his lightweight frame to dance into pockets of space at ease before opening up the opposition’s back line. He is one of the most highly rated players in the country.

And he could be set to move on loan to The Emirates. Arsene Wenger has cast a keen eye over the player as numerous European clubs are capitalising on the demise of the Ukrainian Premier League following the civil problems that are ongoing in the country at the moment.

Many South American footballers have refused to even travel back to Ukraine amidst the chaos.

So can we expect Bernard to arrive in the Premier League soon? Quite possibly.

And the move could be a real coup for Arsenal as the player has been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past.
